A drive in the country :)

On Saturday we hopped in the car and went for a drive. It is soooo nice to slow down and just go for a ride, even Mikayla got into the adventure. We drove and drove and drove, quite literally for hours – one time we were on some back country roads somewhere and Michael said he thought we might be lost… she piped up from the back seat and said “we’re not getting lost…. we’re already lost!!” What a stinker!!!!

It was a great adventure – we stopped often, laughed a lot, took a lot of pictures of Mikayla with the bluebonnets and wild flowers, drove through three camp grounds and I have the distinct feeling that some tent camping is in our near future, found a play ground for her to play on for awhile and rode around some more. It was a good drive through the country!!! The weather was great and the day was beautiful too!!!

It was sooooo nice, we all came home feeling like we did something and had a great time doing it. It’s the little things, right. I truly treasure days like this.

Some more Easter fun!!!!

Michael, Mikayla and I went down to cousins Jason, Whitney and Bryce's house for another Easter celebration. We had such a nice time!!!!

A little funny was when we were all just finishing eating dinner and Mikayla pipes up and says "So, did ya'll know Jesus isn't dead anymore?" after a shocked few seconds we all laughed at the bluntess of a 4 year old, a very southern sounding 4 year old that is (at least with that statement). So while that's a very important part of the Easter story, I think we need some more studying on the rest of the lesson!! I think I'll work on a teeny bit of tact in that it might be nicer to say "and Jesus was raised up from the dead"..... out of the mouths of babes.....

The Easter Bunny Came!!!!

Mikayla and I were in the kitchen when all of a sudden the door bell rang....the dogs were barking.... we thought we knew who it might be..... so we went running, sure enough, the Easter bunny brought her basket and left it on the porch for her. He is just so fast though that we missed seeing him.... maybe next year we'll be able to catch him, at least to say thank you! He's sneaky!

Happy Easter!!!! What a special time for us to celebrate. Mikayla had a wonderful time, we can't wait for next weekend too, to celebrate again!!! Here we are on our way to chuch.
