A lounge was born

Well we've been at it again....  sorting, purging, saving, storing and just cleaning up!  Sadly, time for more little girl stuff to be put away while we discover what new things the big girl in her place needs/wants to play with.  For now her room is FANTASTIC!!! OH MY!!!!!!

It's had a couple do overs...but this was a doozie do over.  I had this shelf I was SOOO happy to finally hang (thanks Katie).

 

 

 

Seriously, WHYYYYY does it make such a mess to clean up?

 

 

 

 

 

We still have some work to do in the closet but I'm out of time for this round.  I'll get back to it soon though.

 

So after the cleaning, of course we had to throw some paint on the walls.... (I wish it was as easy as throwing...)

 

 

 

 

Then the magic......

 

 

I found these metal trays at the $1 store.... I made some magnets and she's got instant places to hang whatever treasures she wants to

I kid you not, I was still working and she could NOT help herself but to be in there at her desk planning her lessons.... (to teach me)

She is so happy, I am so happy too!  It's just WOW!  There are still a few things up my sleeves to do in here.. but I wanted to post this because I'm SOOOO exited about it.

Camping!!!!

My goodness time sure is getting away from me!!! 

 

Here is a quick update on what we have been up to.  We went camping!!!!  It was so nice, we had the most perfect weather ever!!!

 

This was the sunset on our way out, the pictures don't do it justice but it was AMAZING!

 

 

Naturally we got to the campground in the dark... well they did a great job hiding the site markers...we dove the park loops around and around and around... finally on the third look (we did ask people too) the camp host helped guide us in.. good grief.  

 

Now the work began....set the tent up and blow up the beds before it's so late the noise would bother people.  Done deal!! yay!!!  Here's home for the next two nights.

 

 

Michael's joke was that we forgot to bring silverware but we had this spatula.

 

 

He got the furnace started for us in the morning, it was quite chilly!

 

 

 

We got the gazebo all set up too.

Abbie was EXHAUSTED when we got home, she had a GREAT time though.... she's become quite the little traveler!

A Church Festival

Katie and I took the kids to the festival at the church down the street.  Oh we had a blast!!!  These children ran and played and ran some more...

Shockingly - Mikayla even took a 1 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon!!! She was tired!

Mikayla took Hailey for the train ride....

This water balloon shooting was a BLAST!!!!  They hit us way more than we hit them but it was fun!

They went on a camel ride too, that poor thing was so NOT into giving rides....

It was a ton of fun!!!

Some school randoms

This school year seems to be going really well - yay!!  They had back to school night and this just reinforces how cool the school is..... and how digital they are! 

 

We loaded a scanner onto our phones could scan our kid's code and it linked us to a video/report that Mikayla made just for us!  AWESOME!

 

 

There was also wacky sock day.  We wacked out some socks for sure.  We ran to the dollar store and picked up some things.  These socks just did not fit!  So I figured what the heck, I cut them down the middle and we strung them like shoes.

So it's been fun planning these things.  I do have to say that Mikayla almost refused to get out of the car because she didn't see any other wacky hair dos.... my goodness.... but it all worked out thankfully!!!
