A welcome visit!

Janet came to see us and OH MY GOSH what a great time we all had.  Mikayla's only request was next visit she doesn't want to have to go to school!  HA!.

We did so many things, we went to a cook off benefit, a pumpkin patch, sailing, shopping, window shopping, eating out!!  Great times!!

Here we were at a local farmed pumpkin patch and small animal zoo.

They had some exotic animals but the only one we really paid attention to was the kangaroo. Mikayla even go to pet it.  Sadly their tiger had very recently passed away :(

a bunny - he was huge

Here Janet was wiping her shoes off...she stepped in questionable stuff.....  I laughed so hard... because it might have been sand/mud.... or maybe not, there were a lot of animals around!  She had to take the hose to her shoes when we got home!  HAAAAA

We were able to go for an awesome sail boat ride.... OHHHH what a fabulous day we had.  Perfect amount of wind and sun - not too windy, not too sunny!  It was AWESOME.... like wow!!

We even got dad to come with us!

Then we docked our boat at Kemah to go out for dinner and the meal was sooo good, it had a taste of heaven in it I'm sure!

hum, like mother like daughter.... funny face for the camera.......

Then a nice face LOL

Words can't express how much fun it was or how special it was.

It's incredible just to think of family bonds, Janet's known me since I was born...I've known her my whole life!!

And it makes me so thankful for times like this because with my sister not here, it makes my heart happy to know that I have sisters that I choose....

A fun photo shoot

We were messing around down in the marina and I just love the pictures below, I had to bribe for the pictures but I think it was worth it.... besides who doesn't love a Dairy Queen Slushee?  Right!  Win win for everyone!!

I love this age!  She's really growing and gaining so much right now.... she's amazing!

She's getting so grown up on me.

I have no idea how she comes up with these poses.

I love these!!!

Of course the goofy side comes out!!  I love it!!!!!  Drat on me for ever showing her how to cross her eyes!!!  Whoops!

Seriously - where did my baby go?  What is this age group called?  Clearly not baby or toddler but not tween or teen either.... hum?  She'll tell you she's a teenager.....

Who me???

Ahhhhhhh Lovin this girl more and more.

Little Flowers Time

I am SO happy we have this group!!!  We have so much fun and it's really great to learn more, make new friends and just celebrate together!!

Here's my gal, she was so so so happy to be there!!!

We have a bit of a different format this year which is really great! It makes it so we're not so rushed through our activities.

This is Mikayla and her Little Flower BFF.  These two girls have so much fun (they don't know it yet but they get to take sewing classes together too).

It is so nice not to be frantic now too (with our move, new house, new job, new after school routine/center), getting there efficiently is AWESOME now and not such a rushed struggle.  We even ate dinner at home before it started!! Say WHAT!!!!  woo hoo!

It's GREAT!!  This is our third year, there are still two more courses before we have to repeat any of the lessons, which is also fine because I'm sure we don't remember much from the first year.

I "mooostash" you and a catch up

HA HA HA - you will be happy to know we are as dorky as ever!!!!

Here is Mikayla with the estimation jar - she brought a jar full of flowers and everyone had to guess how many were in there - She loves these kinds of projects!!!

hummmmmm how many are there?

Dinner in Kemah one evening - Mikayla won Rosie - her new puppy.

Lots of boating days.

I love this girl!!!

Some more studious pictures....well not really studious - but Mikayla was awarded with an ice cream party for two because she passed a challenging test she'd really worked hard on with flying colors (meaning 100%).

Such a poser!!!!

She is really doing well so far in school, her first progress report was all As - way to go!!  She's working hard and I've come up with a positive reinforcement to avoid the homework blues.... nothing like a chart and $...  HA  - some say bribe, I say positive reinforcement.  All I know is we went from fighting homework (loudly) whining, and fussing - essentially ruining all of our evenings, to motivated and excited to mark on her chart!  Yay, score 1 for mommy - till it changes again but that's ok, it's working for now!!
