Birthday Morning!!!

I cannot believe that Mikayla's birthday has come and gone already.  We are suffering from a birthday hangover at my house LOL!

 

Her party started on Friday when the whole school sang to her at morning announcements

 

 

She had also brought a cookie cake to share with her friends AND her Nana and Papa both got to go have lunch with her!  GREAT times!!

 

Here is her little set up for her real birthday that was on Saturday :)  (she desperately needed a bike, her knees hit the handle bars on the last one - waaaaaa)  So I figured we'd all be out there at different times so I set this up when I knew we would all be there!  I had it all ready to go then sent her upstairs for a little while then when she came down this is what she saw.

It does not bother me in the least that I can fit/ride her new bike better than my own bike where my feet don't reach the ground...whoops.

 

 

I did need to lower the seat a little bit for her but she could NOT wait to go try it out, there is a learning curve to front and back breaks...I sure hope she doesn't flip herself over the handle bars....  yikes!

What an incredible journey motherhood is.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.   Mikayla is such a joy and is really developing into quite a wonderful individual.

Birthday week!!!!

We were in full swing birthday preparation this week at our house!!

Birthdays are always a blast, and it's safe to say we parents love them as much as our kids do.  When their eyes light up , we relive the magic of our own childhoods.  Birthdays are special days, I do confess to loving Mikayla's birthday's a LOT more than my own!

In exactly 5 days we no longer have an 8 year old
We have a 9 year old....

This is her last year for single digits!!!

I am happy to report I find myself a bit more like how I remember my mom from when I was little.  I'm definitely a lot more hyper and wound up than she was but I've had several moments lately where after I did something I thought to myself  "whoa, that was soooooooo something my mom would say/do"  That makes me happy in a heart hurts good kind of way {sniffles}.

So full on party mode.... tons of pictures this week - tons of reminiscing, remembering, celebrating and appreciating going on!!

All Saints Day Parade

Today was Mikayla's All Saints Day celebration at school.  Allow me to introduce St. Clare of Assisi.

 

I - I mean WE had a great time pulling this together.

 

 

Here she comes.  She was so formal walking towards me, then she saw our neighbor and ran to hide behind the column.  HA!
