It's Fascinatoring

Well the morning has been sooooo wonderful!!! Up at 4:15 am (and yes texting with some FABULOUS other watchers) to watch the royal wedding, I've recorded it on two channels (I can't wait to watch it again with Mikayla) there are definitely more surprises in store for the day...but here is how Katie and I started our work day.....

(the following is to be said/read in your most glorious English accent)....

We have here some hand crafted, genuine, fascinating Fascinators. The fascinator is a particularly ornate hair accessory that can feature feathers, beads, flowers, ribbons and other fancy trimmings.

A Royal Event

Well the crazies have hit and yes... I'm will admit that I am ridiculously excited about the Royal wedding. Katie and I have come up with what we think Kate's dress will look like....

Here are my two hand drawn samples...

In the first choice, Kate's dress is all silk with a sweetheart neckline with drapes that start below the waist and go all the way around, with it being fitted at the top and gradually flowing out. Her hair will be down and her veil will be trimmed in lace and have beads all throughout. She will also be wearing the Queen's big crown.

In the second choice, Kate's dress will be full on lace and beads with a sweetheart neckline. It will be fitted all the way gradually flowing out and being full at the bottom. Her hair will be up and her veil will be a regular veil and again wearing the Queen's big crown (she does need something borrowed afterall).

Below are Katie's drawings and here are her descriptions

Kate’s dress prediction #1: On/off the shoulder sweetheart neckline. Entire dress will be lace with strategically placed beading throughout. Dress will be fitted until mid-thigh where it will flow into a semi-long train.

Kate’s dress prediction #2: the dress itself will be strapless and similar to the above design. Lace with beading and the same fit. However, Kate will wear a lace, see through “jacket” with long sleeves.For both: She will wear a crown with her hair up but not a large crown. Veil will be simple as not to outdo the dress!

Just for the fun of it, I had my family's "Royal" names created...

and Michael is: King Michael Fergus Rovcott of Houstonburgh

Easter Celebration Continues

Here's little Miss having some breakfast on Easter morning.



After cereal we had a visit from the Easter Bunny :) Word has it that the bunny dropped the basket during delivery and then Mikayla dropped it when she picked it up....darn swivel handles!!

We had a really great time.

a really great and special occassion to celebrate.

Mikayla did cry when she realized that Jesus died... as we were leaving Good Friday church - she burst into tears and with all of the passion that a 5 year old can have said "I don't want him to die"...... (complete with foot stomping and some drama....)

Easter Eggs

I LOVE the tradition of dying Easter Eggs!!! Here is the pile of eggs we started with. I'm always a bit sad when it's all done.






















I LOVE doing this each year.... Mikayla loves doing it too!! The men just go along with it.... the video cracks me up....Mikayla and I are all "into" our project and the guys are talking about going to the store and what's for supper LOL!!!

Face Painting Adventures

This weekend Mikayla and I went and worked at Dad's church festival. We had a great time but man o man was it busy. He and I were running the face painting booth!! I brought my big ol camera....I intended to take pictures...but alas, this is the only picture I got and it's with my phone because I was too busy to remember to take pictures....whoopsie.

We estimate we each painted at least 100-125 faces/arms/hands EACH in about 3 hours.... here is a picture of my first job of the day!!

Super Star

I just KNOW Mikayla will one day be a super star..... she already has stars in her eyes....(or on them) LOL

46 Years

WOW, if my mom were still alive, my parents would have been married for 46 years on 4/10/2011. Isn't that awesome!!!

We went and changed the flowers at the cemetary. Such a beautiful day outside.... if she were still here we would have had a party to celebrate, we would have made it a really special day. As it was, we still had a special day and a nice time and just enjoyed being together.

I know that they are a terrific example of what I want in my life

I recognize what an accomplishment a marraige like theirs is/was

I know that I am who I am because of them

I am so thankful they are my parents
