What a week!!! The tile installation is DONE!!!

Well our tile installation is complete!  Seriously how awesome is that, the crew was so professional and did a really fantastic job!!   Below are some of the during (yes there are more "during" pictures LOL, my dad was there for the installation and seriously ROCKED at taking pictures).  I'll have more afters after everything is back in an hung/put away :)  but here is where we are now.

and now.... of course our couch is all crappy and scratched and just won't do for the new floor...so welcome the furniture below... to be delivered mid May.....

SO....what have we learned so far.... we have learned that what you drop on tile will break.... for instance if you're windexing a glass shelf....and you drop it..... it WILL shatter into a million pieces.

We have learned that the dishwasher is not broken just because it sounds different on the new floor (we hope).

We have also learned that the washing machine is not broken because it sounds different on the new floor (we hope).

Heck we have learned that everything sounds different on the new floor!

We have also learned that if something decorative falls off the top of the fridge...it will break....

We have learned that wanting tile and planning for it for sooo long makes us really appreciate it even more!!!  We are ecstatic to the point of giddy about our "new" home!!!

Demolition continues...

YAY!!!!  good bye old over abused carpet!!!  I will NOT miss you! 

Here we go!  I do have to tell you that right now...the dining room is tiled, the living room is tiled, the kitchen is tiled, 1/2 of the bed room is tiled, 1/2 of the master bath is tiled...and right now they're working in the master closet and the other 1/2 of the bedroom.... only the powder room, laundry room and bathroom upstairs are the untouched rooms :)  I can't wait to see it again tonight. 

Well....let the games begin...

Well not officially games... but rather....packing up.....

and..... MOVING !!!!!! 

NOT moving OUT just moving AROUND hee hee....we're having the first floor of the house tiled!!!  I'm beyond thrilled!!!  Like..... beside myself thrilled.  So the installers came today, they've already started the process.   

Here is the first of 3 batches of the tile.

So they've pulled up the carpet/tile around the fireplace/and linoleum flooring.  Seriously, you don't know how I wish I could have cut and ripped up some of that nasty old carpet!! 

They wasted NO time!!

School Field Trip

I went on my very first school trip with Mikayla!  I have to say it was an absolute blast!!  I was a bit nervous about being able to handle my four assigned children but they were really great!!!  Really great kids, they listened and behaved themselves.

Aside from my hearing being compromised (they were all VERY loud when they were all together) that my ears are still ringing and my voice seems different now because I guess I had to talk either a lot more than usual or a LOT louder...not sure...or maybe it was loud because I couldn't hear how loud...LOL but it's ok...it'll get back to normal....I hope....

We stopped at a park on the way back to school for a picnic lunch and to run off some energy - seriously, where do they get it (as I type this, I'm exhausted and wondering how on earth I'll have the energy to finish the day!!)

So.... some things I've noticed about my girl. 

-She is a lot of fun (duh)  LOL

-She has a lot of friends (one mother told me that her daughter talks about Mikayla all the time, and would like to have her come over to play, except....well..... she's really bossy....)  this makes me laugh so hard

-She is a master negotiator, she will negotiate a win win situation with her friends

-She always knows where her teacher is and will sit by her

-She always has a trail of boys with her....the boy mentioned twice previously...Ryan...well....they always sit together, well every chance they get, both of them always look for each other to see what the other one is doing even if they're in different groups, I watched them watching out for each other.  When they were loading up on the bus and Ryan almost panicked that Mikayla got on about 4 kids in front of him...he kept calling out to her... MIKAYLA....MIKAYLA.... so sweet  AND the biggest thing, she talks about him the most.... poor Mitchell...wonder what will happen with him over the summer.

-I love seeing all the relationships she's developing

-She sat in the window seat first...but then moved so Ryan could have the window and the teacher could sit on the other side of her...(3 to a seat)...

-I will totally sign up to go on a field trip again!

oh and one more thing I learned.... I will send more water on field trips, she drank 2 bottles of it and I didn't get any because I gave mine to her and I'm still trying to hydrate!  LOL

It really was a lot of fun, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can't wait for the next one. 

We got all Tangled up!!!!

Mikayla and I went to Disney on Ice on Sunday afternoon.  We had SOOOO much fun!  I loved it as much as she did.  It was a blast!  While waiting for it to start, we did a self picture :)

They did three programs for us, the first one is the Princess and the Frog.  The costumes were incredible.  Sound system was awesome...and living what happens in the movies.... wow!!

The next story is the Cinderella story - Mikayla was vibrating with excitement.... she is Cinderella after all.  She has loved her the most, since the very beginning.  She still adores Cinderella.

 

Next was the story that we live daily too..... Rapunzel... Mikayla makes a great Rapunzel.  Here comes Flynn.

Maximus was cool!

The floating lanterns.... this part of the show.... Mikayla brought me to tears with how enraptured she was seeing the lanterns, she was amazed and in complete awe.  I truly believe she was seeing herself in the movie.... as it is in the movie when Rapunzel was seeing the lanterns for the first time.... it was an awesome moment in time, time froze - just for this moment, where I watched her live something that was so spectacular and amazing to her.  I think I was looking at her when I snapped this picture, I couldn't bear to look away from her.  She also captured the mother/daugher that were seated next to us, she brought them into her story that was taking place, and she was singing the songs as they played.... it was serioulsy WOW.

 

The fireworks were great!!!  It was so pretty!!!

All of the princesses were represented. 

I don't know who enjoyed it more.... we had a really great time.  I was driving and blindly took this picture.... she was OUT for the count!!!
