Katie's Shower

Ohhhhh what fun we had!!  Four of us in the office hosted a shower for Katie and her new baby.  It was really fantastic and we had a good time. 

 

Naturally I was SOOOO happy to craft some goodies for it.  I will confess there were quite a few hours in making the bird houses, bird cupcake picks, diaper cake birds....and so on.  I think Michael even likes the smell of a hot glue gun now LOL  it's the most recent fragrance in the house...HA!

 

 

One thing that strikes me as really funny was when Katie saw the set up, she noticed the bird houses....she looked at me and said "Ohhh did you buy the cut image" me...."um no...not quite, I bought the whole cartridge"  the ladies that were standing near us and hearing the conversation had their heads going back and forth as we talked... it was like a tennis match and they had NO idea what in the world we were talking about ..... 

 

 

In our world...it makes perfect sense that Katie would see something, recognize that it was cricut, know that I didn't have that particular cut image, then question me about it.... um....  we not only know what we have...we know what each other has....do we need crafters anonymous?

 

 

I am deliriously happy with how everything came out for my BFF!

 

 

We had about 25 ladies come to celebrate!! Katie received a lot of really nice gifts!

 

 

 

I also made and LOVED making Katie a baby (now there's something you don't hear every day ha ha ha)

 

(she needed to ride safely in the car)

 

 

The baby was filled with stuff from her registry and stuff I just wanted her to have :)  GOOD times!!!! 

 

 

We can't wait to meet our new friend!!!!

Rodeo time!

We had so much fun.  The rodeo is always fun but really we love the concert part too.  We saw Luke Bryan perform.  Let me say...wow.... love his music!!!

Then the concert!!  woo hoo!!!!!!!

I totally understand why he is and has been CMA performer of the year.... WOW!!!  loved it!!!!

Whew, it's been awhile

I'm not sure why other than it's just plain busy!!  All.the.time.busy.

Our latest adventure was spring break with Mikayla.  I did take a couple of days off to be with her and we were going to go camping...

well.... the weather was pouring RAIN all week.

We got our camp partially set up before a total down pour came, we decided to make the trek back home again because it was going to be miserable all that night and the next day.....

so the next day - we had Mikayla Day!

Out of a reasonable list of things we could go do, she chose to go to the mall.  We visited the American Girl store and amazingly enough they had an opening in their bistro!  That has seriously never ever happened before.

 

We didn't remember to bring any of our dolls but the bistro had one she could borrow so she would have a friend at the table with her!

 

From there we went window shopping until we hit the Vera Bradley store.... oops is the only thing I'm going to say about our visit there.  Then we went to the shoe store and on and on...finally I decided I can't afford any more Mikayla day so we went home.

That night we had one more surprise and that was to go see the new Cinderella movie... Oh my gosh I LOVE LOVE LOVED it.  LOVED it!!!! 

 

So.. while attempting to completely ignore the fact we are NOT camping.... all that work, sorting, buying, cleaning and packing... you know we don't travel lightly, right - however I wasn't completely packed full because we had two cars going  LOL

 

 

We finally threw in the towel and decided to go get our 1/2 set up camp and call it quits. The grounds were a MESS and we were not interested! Amazingly the camp ground office was willing to comp our entire 4 nights for another time vs. just reimbursing for one night which was our hope at a minimum.  :)  yay!!!

 

 

Finally it started to clear up....

 

It dried out a little, so we camped at home.

Mikayla was ecstatic!!!  Whew... we may have salvaged the week after all....

 

Now tonight we have to take it down before the scheduled rain starts tomorrow....again.....
