Big foot!!

So really, how did this happen....

I LOVE to crochet beads onto socks...I really think every single little girl in the world should have beaded socks.... but seriously...how did Mikayla's feet go from the itty bitty socks like the first one in the picture below...to the big girl sock (bottom picture) .... wwwwaaaaaaaaa sure wish time could slow down just a bit.

Teacher...teacher...teacher...teacher....

Mikayla is in full on teacher mode.... she LOVES to play teacher. In these pictures she was doing our "physicals"....

M: Step forward one step and stop...

All the while she's making her "notes" on her clip board, and yes.....I had to take this test too.

Last night, she set all of us up with our own work tables and we had home work to do, Michael did flash cards...Nana had to write her name over and over and over and over and over, enough to fill the whole sheet and I had to write a list. I love when she does "roll call" she says, when I call your name, raise your hand and say here....

Virginia - (raises hand and says here)

Michael - (raises hand and says here)

Kirsten - (raises hand and says here)

Abbie - (we raise her hand for her and say arf - translation "here")

Allie - (again we raise her hand for her and say arf-translation "here")

Let me tell you.... she runs a tight ship!!!! Among all of her other play acting roles, teacher is one of her favorites! We have a play school bus, that you open up and it looks like a class room with each side of the bus being a "different" learning zone.... she is in hog heaven teaching us how to read and write, music class, physicals, don't forget the Pledge of Allegiance complete with a flag, and so on!

5 year pictures

Well I am a bit late in getting these taken but I knew I'd regret not having them.... so here is Mikayla for her 5 year photo shoot....

I couldn't help this one, we've been going to the same studio since Mikayla was born and we never took one with the bear LOL

Gosh the time goes fast!!! I can't believe how grown up my baby is! *sniff sniff*

Oh the sickies :(

Poor little miss has been under the weather all week. She started running a low grade fever on Saturday night (the day of the ear piercing-so you KNOW I thought this was all my fault), then Sunday she was kind of congested and coughing, then Monday more fever and coughing/congestion, Monday night...yowsa....her fever spiked at 102.7...so Tuesday evening she went to the doctor, turns out she's got an ear infection (probably the same one that didn't clear up from 3 weeks ago), and pneumonia in the lower lobe of her left lung and then to top it off, her rapid strep test came back negative but the 24 hour sample turned up positive, so she's got strep too. Our day yesterday started with her having her first ever bloody nose too :( WOW bless her little heart.




Thankfully with the help of medication, chicken noodle soup, and lots of lovin, I think we're on the road to recovery. Bless her little heart.......

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Mikayla says Happy Valentines Day!!

Such a brave girl!!!

Little miss has been asking me to get her ears pierced.... I kept telling her we needed to wait for a "special" day to make it a real occasion.... so the weeks go by and she asks all the time, "is it a special day mommy" I say every day is special, she asks "special enough for earrings today?" I say not yet......well I was actually waiting for Valentine's Day, sort of make it a "special weekend."


Here we are on our way to go get it done, when she figured out the clues I gave her she SCREAMED....oh my she was beyond thrilled!!!!

We are now there......of course I'm taking pictures....

Just waiting on the lady to come with the "pink ice" studs she picked out.

Awwww here's my baby girl with earrings.... I did cry here... she said "It's ok Momma"...... which of course made me tear up more.

I am so proud of her...she was SOOOO brave, she didn't even cry. She's so beautiful and soooo happy that she has her earrings, now she wants to know when she can take them out... hee hee...

Duster Concert

Have you ever been to a duster concert? At first I wasn't even sure what it was.

I haven't been to one before....well until this weekend. We were cleaning and Mikayla grabbed the duster and proceeded to put on an amazing concert for us!!!! I suspect it was not only for entertainment but also to get out of doing her chores (which didn't work but we all had fun anyway)..... LOL

She was seriously rockin!!!!

Monkey see monkey do!

We went to my nephew's birthday party at a really neat place, they had a total indoor play area, video games galore, rock wall, slides...you name it. Including a monkey cage!!! (yes with real live monkeys....)

Here's Mikayla on the rock wall, I can't believe how long her hair is in this picture, I mean I know it's long...but it just looks longer here, LOL I'm not sure why hee hee

Here are the monkeys in the monkey cage.... well plus the real monkeys, the kids got to hand feed them and they were jumping and running all over the kids, it was crazy. I thought they were all very brave especially considering that none of the adults were very interested in going in there.






This is the dominant female of the group, they take her out when groups go in, she sounds the nervous alarm and the monkeys go crazy, so they just remove her and she gets to socialize with the outside world.

It was a good time!!! Mikayla slept like a rock that night!!!

Cows and Princesses

What do cows and princesses have in common..... well nothing unless it's Princess Family Night at Chick-filet-a..... After school, Mikayla got decked out in her princess attire (daily occurance at our house anyway) and we headed over to the mad zoo! The princesses were out in full force.... wow!! I'm not entirely certain my hearing will be the same! LOL
