We have had so much fun preparing for the Olympic games!!  We've colored Olympic pages....

We lit the torch.... started by getting our "fire"

And now..... tracking our team!!!!

So far Mikayla's favorites are swimming, diving and gymnastics.  She gets so caught up in it she has to stand while watching because of the excitement!!!!  And she calls the United States..."Texas"....so now Texas is competing.... HA!!

I can't wait to watch some more!

We're almost ready!!!

Let the games begin!!  We are gearing up for the Olympic games!!!  Mikayla has had a blast with the beginnings of our preparations this week...  we made our Olympic torches.

USA support!!!  Come on teams!!!

We are all kinds of sparklered here...all the way to our straws!!!!

We went to the Circus!!

We went to the circus on Saturday with Katie and Tyler.  It was SO much fun, here are the kids waiting to get inside.

Prior to the show, you can go down on the stage and see some of the animals up close and personal.  I love the big old fashioned signs that were up.

Loved watching the elephants. 

Of course Mikayla had to get her face painted :)  The lady doing the painting was REALLY good, and so fast!!

  

Tyler rode the Houston circus animals... number one, he could drive it by himself but they wouldn't let him and number two - he was staring down the girl that go the purple elephant animal he wanted....

HA!!

I have to confess that I was really loud with the act below...those guys are CRAZY, they spin around and then they were jumping from one to the other and on the inside of it and the outside...OH my nerves!!  I kept screaming out OHHHHH and OH NOOOOO..... HA!

another crowd pleasing OHHHH GOSH moment while you look away and look back to see if it's true that there's really a guy hanging from her leg and she's hanging from the other leg and they're flying through the air while going in circles (now there's something you don't say every day LOL)

Yet another OOHHHH NOOOOO (loudly) moment from Kirsten.

Totally loved the elephants.  They just seem like such gentle giants...I want one.... well maybe not, we could fertilize the neighborhood!  HA (another of Tyler's favorite moment was when the elephant poo'd on the stage) hee hee.  Mikayla completely missed that!

It was really neat to go see it.  Mikayla doesn't remember too much from the last time so it was really fun.  It was SO fun to hear what Tyler thought of the clowns - he was really laughing loud and hard at their stunts (the lady in front of him turned around to see who was having so much fun, I think that made her have more fun too!)!

Michael has been selling the food to the circus....one day they ordered 1,600 lbs of chicken and 1,600 lbs of top round beef for the tigers, and 50 cases of lettuce for the elephants along with carrots and celery too.  So it's cool that he's feeding his "lions, tigers, and bears from the circus". 

I LOVE the circus!!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Day!!!  We had a great day in spite of it feeling sort of strange being in the middle of the week and feeling like a weekend but it was definitely not a weekend.  We had a great time

We started out by making some red, white and blue strawberries that I saw on Pinterest (love that site!!).  They were fun to make, fun to look at (even though they're not perfect) and they tasted even better!

Then Mikayla and I made some R/W/B pinwheels and fan flowers for a little banner.

Then we made some ice cream!!!!!  I have such fond memories of making ice cream when I was a kid (although it sure felt like it took all day to do it back then).

Then we had to leave before it totally set up, so other than a taste test...we haven't had any HA!  Then we headed over to my BIL & SILs house.  The cousins had GREAT fun and the adults did too!

In the picture below, Michael was laughing soooooo hard!  It makes me laugh out loud to remember what he was laughing at!

Then some sparkler action!

This was an awesome sword fire shooter thing.

Then we went out onto the golf course and saw the big fireworks!!!  It was an amazing display!  We left their house about 10:15 pm...and had to have an early morning today, so I'm sure Mikayla will be tired tonight but I sure wouldn't trade any of the day!!!  Not one bit!

I hope everyone's 4th was a GREAT day!!  It's nice to take some time to reflect on our blessings!!
