Bulletin Board catch up

I have done a few more boards at school from the fall through now.  I cannot believe that there are only two more (time two rooms, so actually four) to do until the end of the year.... HOW did that happen?

 

 

 

I  made these 3D pumpkins....I fell in love with them!!!

I made a snow globe for each kiddo that's in class.

 

 

 

Her teacher has a big ol snowman that she put on the left side of this board, I just didn't have him at the time I took this picture.

This one is a bit plain right now...but the teacher in this class will have her kids decorate hearts to display on the board as well. 

 

 

 

I am completely smitten by this one!!!!  It's got a piece of my heart...ha ha ha pun intended.

Smallest room...big impact

I think I have spent WAY too much time thinking/obsessing about the smallest room in our house.  The master bathroom toilet room.

It all started with this.... a magazine rack TP holder.  My MIL has one of these and I loved it...two rolls PLUS storage for a book or magazine..... SOLD.  I was able to track this down and had one made.

Well... can't have that new awesome rack in a bathroom that it won't match..... (blue cabinets...white cabinet.... my brain can't accept it)

 

SO..... a to Home Goods, two cans of spray paint...some new stuff.  This is where it ended up.

 

I was never so happy to cover up the blue paint as I was on this project!  They look so much better white.

 

 

Ahhhhh soooo much better, it was such an easy update to this teeny tiny room.

 

Gifts that Mikayla made

Well this first one isn't a gift she made, I made it....just for me!  When we were in Destin we collected some mini shells and some mini sand.... and I changed them into an ornament we can have forever!! I started out by using cricut to cut the design out in vinyl.... adhered that to the ornament and then proceeded to fill it with the stuff we wanted to fill it with.

 

 

 

 

Mikaya wasn't sure what she wanted to make everyone this year so we came up with this.  We bought some plain mugs from the store and she created her own designs with cricut to fill in and color with some oil based sharpie markers.  She did 100% of the creation, I cut with my machine and adhered it to the mug, she colored it all in.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I tried my hand at some glitter iron on vinyl to a mug to see if it holds up.  So far so good.

 

 

 

I do have to say though that our oil based markers aren't holding up very well :(  we already have two to do over to see if we can get it to not wash off. (it totally wasn't supposed to wash off..... but....it is, we even followed the directions exactly, maybe I will blame the oven on it not being just right....hummmm).

 

Anyway we had an absolute blast with this project!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

We rung in the New Year outside with the neighbors watching their fireworks.  It was soooo cold - especially compared to Christmas that was so hot! 

 

We sure enjoyed ourselves though!

 

It is so fun to watch everyone's displays, they are sooooo professional these days!!!

It was a great New Years Eve.  Then New Years Day, my dad cooked us a turkey (we still didn't have a correctly working oven)....  and then brought it over to our house. 

It was a perfect day too!  Sooooo relaxing!  I really loved it!!!

It's better late than never.....

I made a goal to use my big camera instead of all cell phone pictures for Christmas this year.  And I did a GREAT job of it....however...I did a terrible job of getting the pictures off of the camera!!  So that's why I'm so late, maybe next year I can find a happy medium between big camera and cell pictures :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We had a WONDERFUL season this year..... absolutely everything was great!!  We started out Christmas Eve with extended family meeting for lunch.  Here are the kids (they're all getting SO big)!

 

 

Then we went over to church and we took up almost the whole pew!!  That was pretty fun, there's usually only 4-5 of us....but today there were 10 of us, my dad even surprised us all and found us in the church after work!

After our wonderful Italian dinner was time to put out the reindeer food on the porch.... well, after about 30 minutes outside, the food turned into a rock and was feeding the ants....it was SOOOO muggy/hot outside that the oatmeal absorbed the moisture and turned into a brick!  (it was about 80+ degrees on Christmas day and our air conditioner was on the fritz!)

 

 

The next morning, Mikayla slept until almost 6:00....she was flying all over the house!!!! We started a new tradition last year that my dad will spend the night with us on Christmas Eve and we can all have Christmas morning together.  It's great fun!

 

Mikayla has seriously questioned the existence of Santa this year.  She has a friend at school that has suddenly become the expert on life and told her there was no Santa.... UGH!

 

In any event, Santa came!  She got a bunch of games from him this year.

 

 

Something that pushed her over the edge though was the fact that this strap (picture below) must have fallen off of the reindeer while they were eating the vegetables we left for them.... (the oats were inedible LOL)...

 

She was more excited about that than she was just about anything else.

 

 

It was fun opening our presents!  :)

Another feast.  We grilled some durock pork on the long bones...... and we had to be very strategic with our menu planning because we didn't have an oven to bake in.... well we can mostly heat up in it but to cook something....well it could go well or not.... (a whole different story to follow on the oven)

 

 

There we have it.....summed up awesomeness. 

 

It was peaceful, it was relaxing, it was absolutely everything I wanted it to be!
