What a GREAT day!!!!!

Oh gosh we had so much fun!!! Janet came into town and we got to play the day away. We went to the Aquarium downtown and it's not only a restaurant but a whole activity center too. We started with lunch and then went on a train ride.

After the EXCITING train ride (funny story about the ride and how I jumped so high at one point and nearly pushed Janet off).... we went through the exhibit they have there. It is a fantastic display!!!! I can't wait to go back. Mikayla had a blast too.

Today was a true underwater adventure!!!!!!

Grandma is such a good sport....

Painting... whew

Goodness, you wouldn't think that tiny pieces take a long time to create.... but they do. There's at least an hour per piece. Dad and I are each painting a set of these :) I'll show you the final product when it's done (the final products will be Christmas ornaments).

It's been a busy craft week!

OH WOW!!!!

I had another layout entered on the scrappy site I'm a part of and it won!!!! WOW.

The challenge was "characters". I am so happy that people liked it enough to vote. It was a narrow win and all of the layouts were outstanding. I plan on duplicating one of them myself. Here's the layout that won. I'm so excited and happy!!!! WOW!!!!!

I participate in an on-line scrappy board where there are layout challenges and this particular challenge was doing a layout with pink/yellow.

Whoever wants to participate signs up and then posts their layout. At the end of the posting period, all layouts are added to a poll for everyone that is a member to vote on.

Guess what!!!! My layout won!!! Can you belive it? This is the one that won. I still can't belive it!! (no prizes are awarded, just winning is amazing)

Special times

We all know how fragile life is and I think it is so special to see Grandma and Mikayla playing. I love that we have this time with her. I feel so honored to be able spend time with my 98 year old grandma and my 2 year old daughter. Such good times!

Swim..... Baby..... Swim.....

I can't belive it's been almost a whole year that Mikayla has been in weekly swimming lessons. She floats, jumps in, plays and the latest is she will dive in head first. She has always been a water baby and I'm so happy that she is still enjoying her lessons.

Fun fun fun!

While much crafting took place during the wee hours of the night, the days were full of fun too. Mikayla had a blast with the hose!!! Such a water baby she is.

She's also learning how to ride a bike....I can't believe how fast the time is going!! She does really good with steering it and does really good with peddling, it's just combining the two at the same time that's posing a challenge. She did really great for a first try though and I'm super proud!

This is an explosion box. It is all paper and a great way to display/store special pictures.

Umbrella Mishap

Well, what do you think happens when the outside table umbrella pole is too short and the folded up umbrella part is too big? Here is a little history, we put the umbrella through the top of the table and it rests on a brick underneath to make it so that we can easily open and close it and it keeps the brass tips from scratching the table top. Last night Michael was putting it back in the table (we took it out for the tropical storm earlier this week) and the brick wasn't in place yet, so the question becomes... what happens when the brass tipped umbrella hits the top of the table and a fair speed? ? ? I'll show you.......

Busy Beaver

Last night I was able to wrap up a project that I've been working on. It is an actual puzzle piece that I altered to use as a scrap book item (it's for a swap I'm involved in). I love how they turned out. What a fun way to make some embelishments!




I got a new Disney cartridge for my Cricut. Here is what I made. Not bad for my first attempt. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cartridge. This is only the beginning!!!! WOO HOO!

New Movie

My best friend recommended a Barbie movie because her daughter loves them so much, so we went to the store to get it and here she is watching it. She really seemed to enjoy it. Thanks Sweetie!!!!

Tropical Storm

Well it turned out to not be as bad as predicted (here anyway) although Mikayla's school was closed all day, so she got to come to work with me. She was SO good!!! I'm so proud of her. We only had one door slamming incident and that was it. She was busy going back and forth from my office to Katie's office. I was even able to get her to nap for 1 hour and 15 min. Not bad for a very strange situation for her. Boy we were both pooped last night though, she was really cranky and got her shower and in her pj's before 6:30 even before dinner!!!! But she slept well and is with her Papa today for swimming. They always have a good time.

A Wiggly Adventure

We took Mikayla to the Wiggles concert yesterday. Oh gosh what a wonderful time we had. Mikayla was a little scared at first but really got into it. She was dancing and jumping and singing right along. There was ballet, gymnastics, of course singing and dancing. They are a very talented group.

Although to be honest, I'm not sure who had more fun, her or us.... LOL The Wiggles really put on a good show, we were in the 17th row so we could really see everything going on. It was AWESOME!!!!
