Lotions and potions... oh my

Mikayla is VERY into making things....good things, made up things...things for her things! 

 

She loves "inventing" and making potions.  This time she was making me a magical love potion... she told me "I'm going to make love.........  " I had to make her repeat that........

 

I about spit on myself.....

 

Anyway, she was coming up with her love potion, it is a very serious business.

 

 

 

In the picture below, it shows some of her potions, she's made mermaid tears, friendship dust, love potion, truth serum.... this is only a small part of her collection of potions.   She loves all the different little bottles!! 

 

 

SO much fun to watch her imagination at play.  She is a very cool kiddo!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Gosh I LOVE Valentine's Day.

 

I love the idea of love.

 

I love love.

 

I learned last minute (meaning the day before) that the kids could wear Valentine Tshirts to school the next day (instead of a uniform)...  I happened to be at Hobby Lobby when I found that out, so over to the t-shirt section I went!!  I snatched up a red one and then the fun started, designing something that I could easily cut and iron on....

 

So I pulled the image below together on my software program....

 

 

 

added a few Valentine type sentiments.

 

 

and cut it out on cricut and ironed it on.  I couldn't bear to throw away the white hearts that were from the tires, so I put one on each arm.

We had a wonderful evening, a great dinner, and an even better dessert.  I have to give credit to Michael for these desserts.  They were AMAZING!!

Ice Skating

To escape the 80 degree weather we've been having several of the girls from school got together to go ice skating! It was  a big deal because Mikayla is in 5th grade....al of these girls are in 6th grade....ooooohhhhhh pretty big deal, huh!

 

 

 

 

Mikayla made her hat!  She has a loom knitter - she did a good job!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They were so cute!!!  All huddled together!

 

 

The nice man came to help them up when they went down...LOL...yup Mikayla was down right here!

 

I LOVED how this little girl was skating in style!!!  how fun, right!!

 

 

One of the other mothers converted the girls into cartoon characters..... too cool!!

 

 

Good times for sure!!!

 

It's Art time!

Mikaylas school was having a fundraiser and for this one item there were only eight openings for the whole school and it was to buy an art pass for an art lesson.  I was so happy that we won because Mikayla loves her art teacher and welcomed the opportunity to paint with her.

 

The facility was the neatest place for an art studio that I have EVER been.  It was sooo cool and so inspiring.  I was inspired just being there!!

Just past the mermaid...there were about 5 separate cottages where the different classes could be held.

 

 

Mikayla was in the blue cottage.

Her eyes were closed but you can see the cardinal bird that she painted.  She had a great time.... I had a great time just being there too and I didn't paint anything cool!  (does that mean I need to get out more???) (don't answer that)

 

 

Father Daughter Dance

We were so excited about this dance!!!  It's Mikayla's first ever dance and I'm just so so so happy that everything worked out beautifully!!!

 

We got her a pretty corsage.  It is really neat to see that tradition continue on.  They said almost all of the girls had one.

 

 

I don't remember what was funny but Michael was SOOOOOOO happy!!

I LOVE how they decorated with the strings of lights across the room.

 

 

The girls danced every song....the dads danced about 10 of them LOL

 

 

 

 

 

Oh to be a fly on the wall in there!!!!!  I am absolutely thrilled they had a great time.
