5th Birthday Party!!

WOW we really had a great time, it was at a place called Monkey Buziness and believe me there was a LOT of monkeying around!!!! We had about 22 of our friends come and play with us :) It was awesome!!!!

After playing for awhile, we had some lunch and cake! Here is my masterpiece... well not really mastper piece but I sure was happy how it came out :)

We really had a great time, and a certain little girl will hopefully have some fabulous memories of her birthday celebrations!!!

Birthday Cake Making MESS

I can't believe it's that time again!!! One of my favorite things to plan for Mikayla's birthday is the cake... I absolutely loved how this years cake came out, of course there were plenty of things that could have gone better but that's ok, she loved it and so did I :) Here is normal schedule.....

Week before party -

Monday/Tuesday - Make frosting

Wednesday - round one of cake baking

Thursday - round two of cake baking and round one of cake frosting

Friday - round two of cake frosting and assembly and decorating

Here is what happened to my kitchen on Friday alone .... I can't believe what a mess I made! Seriously - it was ridiculous, I even used ALL of my dish towels....yes, the entire drawer full..... I am not sure what come over me....

I will show you the end result soon ;) hopefully this mess was worth it!

Boat Baby!!!

We had a great ride on Saturday, the weather was PERFECT out, a bit cool but sooooooo nice. Little Miss was all dressed for winter (well minus boots, hat, coat, gloves...well winter gloves that is - cleaning gloves are always welcome ...LOL).

Mikayla took over the helm for the first time - unassisted, of course we were right there before anything could go wrong but she did it!!!! She also tacked (turned) the boat for the very first time all by herself too (see the video below)

Time to head back in, the sun is going down and it's getting chilly now!

WOW - it was a close call......

SO..... the question of the day... do you know what is inside a fire extinguisher??

We went for a nice boat ride on Saturday and uneventfully came back into our dock slip. We started cleaning up and getting our stuff off and ready to go home, Michael opened the cubby where we store the horn and all of a sudden there were FLAMES inside of it!!!! He had GREAT reflexes and quick grabbed the fire extinguisher (thank God we have them on board) and doused the flames... it was a small electrical fire - no damage done (Michael has since completely disabled any electricity to that section until further notice) SOOOOO many things to be thankful for - thankful we were at dock and not at sea and not noticing there was a fire below deck, thankful that we have good supplies on board so that Michael put it out so fast... thankful that the only thing we have to do is clean up.......

We had a mini/early birthday celebration for Mikayla. FUN!!! They got Mikayla this adorable cake and presents! She was the belle of the ball!!

Mikayla was the best bride ever. I do realize this is the cheapest wedding we'll ever see from Mikayla but she really did feel like a princess bride and had a blast.... these pictures make me want to cry..... How did she get so "grown up"?

She got the you know what scared out of her at this house... the 4 scary creatures on the way to the door were actually people dressed up and scaring the %$%$# out of the kids, she saw that and ran like they were after her.... she didn't care what they were handing out at the door - she wanted NONE of it - it didn't phase Jonathan LOL she totally saw it and ran away...

Thank goodness there was someone to save the day :)

This is the general feeling of Mikayla's day :) She is such a happy girl.
