We have been working hard

Always making time for play too!! Here are the many faces of Mikayla

Definitely a future Elvis impersonator.....

Fish kiss anyone?

Who me?????

It's a lovely day for a hat!

Mikayla's "scrapping table"

And what is a blog post without some creations on it.....
The overlay on this one is an actual 12x12 transparency, it was definately a challenge to "work it".

Here are some pull out mini-album/cards that I made for two of my girlfriends. These were a lot of fun!!!

Scrap-a-thon Weekend

Wow what a busy weekend. I crafted to my hearts content and even with that I still long for more LOL - here is what I created. (ton of pics...sorry)

Embarassingly enough, here is my room after the work commenced, there was just no time to clean up after myself in the middle of it. I can't even begin to say how many hours I worked up there this weekend but I'm happy with how everything turned out.

My beautiful girl

Here are some pictures of my best gal from this past weekend. She has been calling me her "best friend" lately. I can't tell you how happy that makes me feel. I hope it is always this way.

Her first time ever for cotton candy. She didn't know what to think but at the end of tasting, she loved it!

Mirror image.... she is such a loving child and loves to give hugs and kisses - the mirror was readily available - LOL

The further her tongue sticks out - the more fun she's having!!! Right here on a scale of 1 to 10...this is a 10...... just imagine the laugh that is right behind that smile and tongue too!!!! She was running so fast (being chased by a boy.....) that I barely caught her on the camera... I have about 5 blank pictures before this one to prove it LOL.

She LOVES to help - especially if it entails dishes, soap and water!

It has been busy... here she is with her Nana..... both of them - sacked out on the couch!!!

New Layout

Here is my latest and greatest!!!

I've been scrapping again!!! yay!!!

We have been soooo busy lately. I can tell more what we're up to later but I had the week off from work and we worked on projects, did a lot of running around, went to the zoo, played at the park, slept in every day and stayed up too late every night (we're all night owls, even Mikayla). We loved every second of it. We all need more time like that... just time to stop and do what we want. Of course during the hectic pace we maintained, I managed to squeeze in a little bit of scrapping. Here are some of my latest pages.

I wish the picture reflected how much work this one actually was but I hand waffled the entire pink row underneath the ribbon in an accordion style to get the effect I wanted.

I absolutely love this page and am pretty proud of it. It was really fun doing something a little different and something completely just for me. It is inspiring me to want to do more scrapping of my wedding pages (or shall I say re-scrapping my wedding). I'm going to scrap our honeymoon first then back to the wedding... maybe.... I love that I'll never run out of pictures to play with.

It's Leslie's day - January 28

Two years later how can I still not be used to her being gone, how can I still wait for the phone to ring and hope that it is her on the other line, how can I still be scared every time the phone rings that something has happened to someone else I love and cherish. How can another year without her be over? I still have her e-mails, I still have her phone number programmed in.

I feel so sad that Mikayla will only know her through us telling her how special she was and how much she loved her.

Leslie would would have been involved in so many of Mikayla’s firsts, we would have scrapped countless pages together, would have gone to our cake classes, would have continued to get our nails done together (well she got a mani and I got a pedi)….numerous shopping trips together, gone out for ice cream, planned Mikayla’s parties together, she was the best neck/back masseuse ever, we would have laughed ourselves silly who knows how many times, laughing at all of our little silly private jokes and we had a LOT of them. I still hear her and feel her. We talked on the phone every day and e-mailed back and forth all day every day (work days anyway)…. 52 more weeks of NOT seeing her and hearing her. 52 more weeks of missing her, I find myself wishing we had more... more sleepovers, parties, time..... It makes me so thankful for what we had. It makes me so thankful that we were all together on her last day. It makes me thankful her last hug in life was from Mikayla who she loved so dearly.

So I just continue to fill my days to brimming, some to overflowing…. and at this exact moment in time, I feel older, wiser, heart broken, and not innocent anymore and at the same time so fulfilled, genuinely happy, thankful, at peace, and loved.

I want to thank each of you for helping to fill my heart and helping me continue to put its shattered pieces back together again, one day at a time. I love you!!!

Here is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them.

Another creation

Here is a layout I made for my girlfriends (and scrappy buddy) baby shower. It was sooo much fun and I used some new techniques that I can't wait to try again!!

And the outfit to match.

A diaper rocking horse (yes, it's 100% made out of diapers)

Booties made out of styrofoam cups.

Here is a picture of what was an absolutely beautiful sunset the other day. I wish I really could have captured it but this is close.

And of course, what is a blog post w/out the star in my life? Here she is having some fun play time!!
