The Craft Room

This is Bob's room (remember Bob?  he used to live here):

Then it was ours......

Then it flooded three days later.....

Then I sort of pulled it together :)  it worked for a little while.... but wasn't really as usable as I need it to be to be creative...I spent my time looking for stuff instead of doing stuff....so then I stopped doing stuff :(

then the cabinets got too full....little too disorganized.... messy, cluttery, you name it...I was OVER it! I had already moved one of the three cabinets upstairs to the game room.

Then we got the most magical craft cabinet ever!

I had a Monica closet (from Friends...) seriously - I have NO idea how this happened.

It then became this.....

and is now this....

This is the top part (I put a bookshelf up there so we could have more vertical storage)

and now my craft room - the most functional room in the house..... is now this......

drumroll......

Before:

After:

WOW!!!

We still need to paint and my throw rug is on order, and decide on wall decor but I couldn't wait to show it as it is now!!  LOL

WOW......

seriously - WOW!

Scrappy Cabinet

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW

WOW

WOW WOW

WOW!

Like WOW!

I was able to get my scrappy cabinet!  This is what she is supposed to look like when she's all assembled :)

My goal is to have the three cabinets/airmore that currently house my equipment and goodies plus the coat closet I converted to craft storage all fit into this one piece of amazingness!!

I was FRANTICALLY waiting for my boxes to come...the shipped weight of this is 500 lbs and it comes on a pallet!

Finally!!! She's HOME!!!

After Christmas, we brought her in (and were SOOOO happy to recycle and get rid of all of the packaging!

Then came the task of assembly.  I know it's been a very daunting task in the past...many people had a horrible time...but all in all it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

It took us just over 5 hours (2 people, 2 drills) to assemble the cabinet and another 2+ hours for two people to install the shelves...they were very bad boys to install....

but then..... it happened.....

the MAGIC!

then MORE MAGIC

Then...... the most magic you can imagine.... IT ALL FIT!!!!!  and I have EMPTY bins for more stuff!!!!  I mean just empty bins that I didn't need to fill.

I used all of these

I sorted, I purged, I cleaned, I had a LOT of help from my MIL and Katie and Michael and Mikayla....

and then.... you close it up..... and walk away!

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!

WOW!!!!!!

Tooth Fairy!

Well I wasn't prepared to see her again so soon..... but alas, she came on December 28, 2014.  WOW!!!!

Mikayla's first molar came out!  These teeth are hard work!  They hurt going in, they hurt coming out and the new ones even hurt too!

This time Mikayla set up the shrinky dink fairy garden we made!  it was cute!

This fairy, I swear she makes such a mess with her glittery fairy dust!

Mikayla was thrilled...... and she thought that her note from the Tooth Fairy looked a lot like my handwriting.... can you imagine... Fairy better change her ways...some people are getting too smart!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Ohhhh we had such a wonderful Christmas!!!

We started Christmas Eve with a wonderful homemade traditional Italian dinner.  We made the pasta, we made the sauce and meatballs.... it was delicious!!!!

After dinner.... Ha!!

I do have to say Mikayla was absolutely heartbroken that her elf, Rolo had to go away.  So she wrote Santa a note, expressing her desire to keep Rolo.  We had MANY tears about having to say goodbye to our friend again this year.

We attempted to do a new tradition this year and go to midnight mass.  It was an amazingly beautiful service.  Mikayla actually requested to go to the midnight service....but it did turn out to be a little too much... she loved the idea of staying up till midnight - not realizing that was the BEGINNING of church, not the end of church (which was near 2:00 am)..... she poked me several times to tell me it was too late and that it was a terrible idea to go... ha!  We got there plenty early because of not being able to find seats because they fill up so fast so we got there just after 11:00... and we totally didn't have to worry, the people started filling in around 11:30.

This year something else we did differently was to have my dad stay the night too so he could be there for Christmas morning.  We did get to sleep in until about 6:30....which was nice...but Michael and I didn't even go to bed until after 3:00... yawn!

Then we dove into presents!!!  We had such FUN

We cooked up a storm, ate up a storm, cleaned up a storm then cleaned up more and more. We have played more than we ever played before, we really had a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!!

I will say that I do not think that we're going to introduce the midnight service to our traditions just yet, we were exhausted for about 2 days afterwards.... ha!
