Merry Christmas!!!!!

Ohhhh we had such a wonderful Christmas!!!

We started Christmas Eve with a wonderful homemade traditional Italian dinner.  We made the pasta, we made the sauce and meatballs.... it was delicious!!!!

After dinner.... Ha!!

I do have to say Mikayla was absolutely heartbroken that her elf, Rolo had to go away.  So she wrote Santa a note, expressing her desire to keep Rolo.  We had MANY tears about having to say goodbye to our friend again this year.

We attempted to do a new tradition this year and go to midnight mass.  It was an amazingly beautiful service.  Mikayla actually requested to go to the midnight service....but it did turn out to be a little too much... she loved the idea of staying up till midnight - not realizing that was the BEGINNING of church, not the end of church (which was near 2:00 am)..... she poked me several times to tell me it was too late and that it was a terrible idea to go... ha!  We got there plenty early because of not being able to find seats because they fill up so fast so we got there just after 11:00... and we totally didn't have to worry, the people started filling in around 11:30.

This year something else we did differently was to have my dad stay the night too so he could be there for Christmas morning.  We did get to sleep in until about 6:30....which was nice...but Michael and I didn't even go to bed until after 3:00... yawn!

Then we dove into presents!!!  We had such FUN

We cooked up a storm, ate up a storm, cleaned up a storm then cleaned up more and more. We have played more than we ever played before, we really had a wonderful and blessed Christmas!!!

I will say that I do not think that we're going to introduce the midnight service to our traditions just yet, we were exhausted for about 2 days afterwards.... ha!
