It was a quiet party....

Quiet is only relative in the terms of number of kiddos....the actual volume of the household was pretty LOUD!  These 10 year olds are c.r.a.z.y. and I can't wait to do it again!

We started with a balloon game where we tie a balloon to each ankle...and chase each other to pop them!  Totally fun.... our quiet neighborhood all of a sudden became very loud with much laughing and screaming.  SCREAMINH!!! I did hear us echoing...oops.....  Katie and I were as loud and screaming as the girls were.

Hilarious!

Action shot....

At one point, a balloon was RIGHT by me...I was sooooo excited....

STOMP

POP

YESSSSS..... ahhhhhh...... only to realize it was my own balloon I popped.... boo!

Then we jumped right into the piƱata because I wanted to do it before it got dark outside.

the Birthday Girl is so strong she broke it on her first round...so Michael was able to jiffy rig it so they could keep playing for a little while.

Then we had dinner and Happy Birthday song and cake.

Then presents.

Whew!!  Now that the formalities were done - the rest of the party can start.....

to be continued.....

It's BIRTHDAY week!!

This year Mikayla wanted to have a sleep over with her school friends.   She chose three of her best school friends to come over.  So we'll see how her first home, sleep over, party goes.  I may or may not be going overboard......  we'll go with not.... maybe... hee hee

In looking back though, I cannot believe that she's turning double digits this year.

The big 10

She's going to be a decade old

DOUBLE DIGITS!!!!  This can only happen once, next big one is triple digits.... yikes!

Wow!  How is it possible that the time has gone so fast.

She is an extraordinary person.
She works really hard at everything she does.
She loves to craft (I'm holding out that she's the next Martha and can support me in my old age)
She is a great student at school.
She is really good at peacemaking.
She is very tender hearted and takes matters to her heart.
She's a great kid and I REALLY enjoy her.

She's really growing up on me.

I really hope and pray that as time moves on she continues to stay the way she is!

I just can't believe it, she's been a part of our world for such a short time but yet it's gone so fast it doesn't seem possible that it's really been 10 years....

TEN YEARS... oh my......

School Fundraiser

The biggest event of the year the "chili cook off" was this past weekend.  Wow, what a great turnout they had!  I'm sure it was more than double what last year was.  It turned out to be a chilly night for the chili.

Originally they were providing 500 hot dogs to go along with the chili but in the middle of the event they ran out and bought 300 more!!!  Isn't that crazy!

At one point while we were out tasting the chili (30 teams signed up to make chili for the competition), Mikayla completely disappeared..... I looked around and was able to easily spot her.... she and some of her friends got on the stage and were dancing!!!!

HA!!  I absolutely love that they are so comfortable there that they would do that.

Some of the other mothers and I were talking and thought, hey, there's a pretty cool youth group (as soon as they're old enough) (it won't be long)

She's so funny, she's not a huge football fan but she picked football face paint because it's "cool"

Dancing in the streets too!

All in all we had a great time and hope that they raised even more money than last year.
