Drill Team Random Pics

Here are some random shots of Mikayla's big day at the high school drill team dance clinic that they took and passed around to all of the parents. (Just for the record she taught me the new song they taught her there and it's been stuck in my head for three days so far...) we sing it and do the dance that goes with it every single night!!! LOL

in the pic below she's all the way to the right :)

She had so much fun at the clinic she is asking to go there again!! The picture below is her "formal" picture of the day, taken with two of the official drill team members.

Happy Mother's Day!!

We had a really nice day on Mother's Day. Michael and Mikayla had some cards and some beautiful flowers for me. We went out to dad's house for lunch and it was all around a great day.

Here is some of Mikayla's creativity.

I'm sure she had help with the spelling but she wrote the card all by herself!! Such neat printing she has!!!

Here's my love bug!!!

Festival Time!

You know it's going to be a great church festival when up pull up and this is the first thing you see.

Mikayla and I were playing!!! here she found the most darling play house complete with a working doorbell, it was great fun!

While she and I were playing... Michael volunteered to serve some BBQ (it was by a previous arrangement we did it this way). He loves to help out where he can! He helped serve hundreds of BBQ plates in the 2 hours he was in there, the line was consistently down the isle and out the door!

Back to the playing.... we played games.... (this one is where she had to dig for treasure....it was great fun)

Then we found some beloved bouncers!! This one was her favorite!!

It was nearly 90 degrees and 90% humidity when we were there .... I was HOT....actually it was so hot that marshmallows were melting to the pavement and it was only 11:00 am....they had some guns that shot marshmallows and they were everywhere, we came home VERY sticky!!! We all had a good time though :)

Drill Team Dancer!!!

Saturday we went to a high school down the road that was having their drill team clinic. Of course I had to sign up Mikayla for it!! She had an absolute blast!!!! Here are all the kids that signed up, they then paired them in to age groups and taught them a dance and a cheer. Then they performed what they learned for all the parents that afternoon.

Here she is getting ready to perform (she's in the turquoise shorts)

Here is her group doing their "cheer"

Here is her group doing their little dance.... how they worked this is that one group did their dance and ran off....while they're running off the next group runs on and so forth.... it was really cute.

Here is the whole gang bowing for the crowds.

Mikayla had a blast she is still asking me when she can go to another dance clinic.

Our Royal Wedding Celebration

Well, Friday night I had a surprise party for Mikayla for us to celebrate the Royal wedding together (yes Michael thinks I have totally cracked up but I am very excited about it). I picked her up from school with a bouquet of flowers to start the celebration and also to pique her curiosity.

Then we were to come home to a front walkway full of rose petals...but the darn wind took them all away, this is all that was left... LOL

Then I showed her the "wedding zone" she FLIPPED out!!! I have never ever seen her this excited and surprised!! I got the flowers and made the cake of the previous two nights after she went to bed.

Next we went in and both transformed to brides... she was just beside herself by now...I even let her wear make up... she kept telling me this was her best day ever and thanking me!!! She knew the princess got married that day...and now she knew we were dressing up to get married with her!!

She was walking down the "isle" here....

Now what is a wedding without pictures..... of course I took a TON here are some of them... seriously I know I say this a lot... but really - how can she be 5 years old??

We had a nice dinner and now it's cake time (complete with the knife Michael and I used at our wedding)!!

We had an absolute blast!!! We watched a lot of the wedding again on Saturday too, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this with her and hopefully making a memory that she won't forget and maybe get to repeat some day with her daughter.

At the end of the day, she had thanked me profusely many times over.... told me this was the best day of her life and said I was the best mom ever.... I guess I did a little something right for today :)

It's Fascinatoring

Well the morning has been sooooo wonderful!!! Up at 4:15 am (and yes texting with some FABULOUS other watchers) to watch the royal wedding, I've recorded it on two channels (I can't wait to watch it again with Mikayla) there are definitely more surprises in store for the day...but here is how Katie and I started our work day.....

(the following is to be said/read in your most glorious English accent)....

We have here some hand crafted, genuine, fascinating Fascinators. The fascinator is a particularly ornate hair accessory that can feature feathers, beads, flowers, ribbons and other fancy trimmings.

A Royal Event

Well the crazies have hit and yes... I'm will admit that I am ridiculously excited about the Royal wedding. Katie and I have come up with what we think Kate's dress will look like....

I love this picture of them

Here are my two hand drawn samples...

In the first choice, Kate's dress is all silk with a sweetheart neckline with drapes that start below the waist and go all the way around, with it being fitted at the top and gradually flowing out. Her hair will be down and her veil will be trimmed in lace and have beads all throughout. She will also be wearing the Queen's big crown.

In the second choice, Kate's dress will be full on lace and beads with a sweetheart neckline. It will be fitted all the way gradually flowing out and being full at the bottom. Her hair will be up and her veil will be a regular veil and again wearing the Queen's big crown (she does need something borrowed afterall).

Below are Katie's drawings and here are her descriptions

Kate’s dress prediction #1: On/off the shoulder sweetheart neckline. Entire dress will be lace with strategically placed beading throughout. Dress will be fitted until mid-thigh where it will flow into a semi-long train.

Kate’s dress prediction #2: the dress itself will be strapless and similar to the above design. Lace with beading and the same fit. However, Kate will wear a lace, see through “jacket” with long sleeves. For both: She will wear a crown with her hair up but not a large crown. Veil will be simple as not to outdo the dress!

Just for the fun of it, I had my family's "Royal" names created...

I am: Queen Kirsten Arabella Rovton of Houstonshire
Mikayla is: Baroness Mikayla Hadley Roberton of Houstonford
and Michael is: King Michael Fergus Rovcott of Houstonburgh

More to come.......
