It turns out she escaped from the neighbors back yard so we put her in our back yard and gave them a call. Mikayla calls her Sally but her name is really Lucy :) isn't that cute!!
In her class room - OH MY GOODNESS, she was so excited to show us absolutely everything from the "real" stuff to the invisible stuff too. I saw her work area, her butterfly, her mail box, her pixy dust, the play area, the work chart area, the bins...you name it - we saw it!
We really had a good time. Here she is showing me her "pixy dust" when she accumulates enough "dust" she can trade it for small prizes.
Here is her "human" they were doing anatomy and here is her person with all their insides and she can tell you all about it.
The real highlight for me though, was talking with her teacher. I had to send an email last week to her teacher and part of what she wrote me back is this "Mikayla is a wonderful student, and she is doing great at everything (all subjects and following directions)! She is a joy!"
Isn't that awesome!!!
Well when I was talking to her teacher yesterday, she told me that Mikayla is the sweetest student she's ever had. She is so helpful and so generous, always follows directions and the little boy that sits across from her needs help with his studies and Mikayla is always doing just that, she reaches right across and shows him or tries to help him with his work (especially in writing and math). The teacher also said that the other day, she saw Mikayla holding the hand of a little 3 year old girl and was walking her down the hall to wherever she needed to go..... so sweet!!!
I'm so proud of her and the way she has adjusted to her new school. This has by far been the easiest transition EVER that we've had. I hope and pray that she continues thriving and loving her new school.
